Not quiet a "Big Girl" yet

The last time we saw Ben he asked me if Aubrey was a "big girl" now. I thought he was thinking she was big because she was turning 2 but, his idea of "big" is that you use the potty. I told him that we was going to start working on being big soon.

Monday was a week since we started potty training. Day 1 soon as Aubrey woke up I put her in training panties and our day began with what consisted of me following her every step so that I could start figuring out about how often she needed to potty. Day 2 is a day not even worth talking about all I can say is I was a wreak and so was Aubrey only word to describe it was HORRIBLE. On day 3 I woke up dreading the day in fear that it would be like the day before. Then as I was reading my bible study I came across this verse "Be completely humble and gentle:be patient, bearing with one another in love"(Ephesians 4:2),how about that a bible verse for potty training! After reading that and lots of prayer, because yes we can even pray about potty training, day 3 and all the other days so far have been much better.

She is doing good, she doesn't say "momma I am going to the potty" and go by herself but she is doing good. She has started saying "yes" when you ask if she needs to potty. We have made a few quick trips to town accident free and our big accomplishment was she made it threw Sunday school and both church services on Sunday with no accidents and used the potty in the nursery. She has yet to poop in the potty so that is my goal for the rest of this week. Tomorrow she has to go to work with me and we have lots of things to buy at walmart when we leave there. I am praying that our day goes good. I will keep you posted.

24 weeks and Growing!

I went for my check up today, everything looked good, add another either 4 or 5 lbs to the score(he said 4 but I was thinking by my record it was 5). I told him I was sure that I had gained 4lbs in fried alligator and 4 in hamburgers while on vacation but I guess I was wrong.(thankfully) While listening for the heart beat we could hear the baby having the hiccups, it was funny and was nice to know what all that crazy moving she had been doing was. I go back next month for my glucose test. I am dreading it because last time it made me sooo sick. Praying it doesn't this time.

Play Dough

Aubrey loves her play dough from Ben and Mollie!

She loves it so much that she had to hug it

and kiss it

Party Time

We was in Ft Walton for a wedding/vacation on Aubrey's birthday so we had a little party for her at the kiddie pool. Our friends and family that were there for the wedding joined us and our cousins from Pensacola were able to come too. Everyone had a great time and the kids loved playing in the pool and at the play area.

Time for presents!
Aubrey actually enjoyed opening her presents, I didn't really think she would care much for it but she had a good time. She loved her presents and has been playing with her toys, reading her books, and getting her hair dried with her new pink hair dryer. She also can't wait to wear her smocked Minnie Mouse dress!

Looking back 2 years

7/6/09

7/6/10

7/6/11

I can't believe I have a 2 years old, I am not sure how this snuck up on me so fast. Aubrey is quiet a character, I thought I would share a few of her "tricks" with you.

1. She is a morning person, she wakes up happy and ready to play each day.

2. She now sleeps with her blankie, her favorite pillow and her "waddle" a stuffed penguin. The penguin is funny to me because just a few months ago she was terrified of them.

3. Her favorite "toons" as she calls them are "mouse"(Mickey Mouse),"Tad"(Leapfrog),"Barney"(said almost with a Brooklyn NY accent) and "WHYS"(Supper Why).

4. She LOVES books, music, anything to do with ABC's, animals, trains and airplanes and her mommas jewelry. She can spot baby from a mile away and always wants to hug and kiss them.

5. She loves stars, the moon and "shunshine"(the sun). Her new thing to say is
Me: I see the moon
Aubrey: moon see me
Me: God made the moon and God
Aubrey: May(made) ME

6. She still calls juice "suice" and her milk "mulk" her favorite foods are corn dogs, rice and gravy with peas mixed together, spaghetti with green beans mixed in it,pepperoni, "gripes"(grapes,"abbles"(apples) and her new favorite "nacks"(snacks) are granola bars and pop tarts.

7. She screams at adults that she is afraid of and from about 5:15 to 5:45 most evenings she is not a happy camper(not sure why). Both of theses things normally make our list of things to pray for forgiveness for each night.

So the list of sweet, funny and precious stories that fill our day could go on forever but I will stop here. Aubrey is an amazing little girl and I thank God for her each day. He sure does think highly of Tom and I to choose us to be her parents. What an amazing gift she is!!!
