A tale of two sisters

I have been neglecting the blog the last few months because our computer was extremely slow and it was a 3 day process just to get pictures uploaded to it and even longer to get them on the blog. BUT, we are now proud owners of a new computer so hopefully I can do a better job of keeping it up in 2012.

Here are a few sweet stories about the girls that I would like to share.

1. Aubrey calls Ella Kate "siser" not sister and "Edda Kate" not Ella Kate.

2. When I am talking to Ella Kate and call her name Aubrey responds with "pic a boo, siser where are you". Not sure why but it is very cute

3. A few nights ago I was getting out of the tub, Ella Kate was in the bouncy and started to cry, Aubrey comes running in and says "aww siser what's the matter" she covers her up with her blanket and says "dere I fix it, siser all better". Then she runs out and comes back with Paw Paw Sherman's wrapped Christmas present and sits it under the bouncy seat and said "here Paw Paw Sherman makes it all better".

4. Aubrey loves to hold Ella Kate and a couple of weeks ago she discovered that she can pick her up, by herself. She discovered that while I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth and they were in the living room! I hear Aubrey saying "siser come here" and I knew that wasn't a good thing. I came in just in time to save baby Ella Kate from her sister.

5. Aubrey doesn't understand why Ella Kate doesn't need to wear lipstick and why she doesn't have her "ears on" (earrings).

6. She also tries to teach her to talk and to sing. She has sounded out several words to her and patiently waits for a respond. She will ask her "what song" meaning what song do you want to sing and will wait a moment then respond "OK little star" and will start singing twinkle twinkle little star.

7. Aubrey does not like to go anywhere without Ella Kate. When we get ready to go somewhere she says "come on siser lets go" and gets very nervous if she thinks Ella Kate isn't getting to go.

8. So the list of cute stories could go on forever but I will end it with this one. One of favorite things to do is to take Ella Kate in with me when I get Aubrey up in the mornings and when she wakes up from nap. Aubrey loves for her to lay beside her in her bed. Ella Kate loves it to, she smiles and kicks and kicks. It melts my heart.

here are some of my favorite early morning and after nap pictures

Beginning of December

Ella Kate had her first day of work this month. She came one week with me and the next she stayed with Mamaw Connie while I went and fixed her new "office" up for her.
She now has a pink and black pack n play that she spends most of her time in. So far she is doing good when we are there, hopefully that will last awhile.

Ready for her first day

Aubrey and Olivia love to go outside and play before there Sunday dinner at Maw Maw Wilma and Paw Paw Sherman's. Here are a few pictures from one of the few dry days that we have had this month.(excuse Aubrey's dress being tucked in her panties, her daddy does that so it doesn't get in her way)

A part of our Christmas tradition is to hang our first Christmas ornaments on Maw Maw Wilma's tree.

Me with mine, I broke it many years ago but maw maw kept it and put tissue in it

This was our attempt to get Christmas pictures of the girls for Ms. Lori and Keith's Christmas cards. Rachael and Ella Kate did really good but Aubrey was in no mood for pictures, she just wanted to play in the toy room. We finally got to her to somewhat cooperate by letting Nick(the dog) out of his box.

Christmas lights

Two Saturdays ago Moma watched the girls so that I could go finish my Christmas shopping. I spent most of the day shopping then come back home and got Tom(he worked the night before and needed a nap) and Aubrey and we went back to Alexandria to look at the lights at the zoo. Aubrey loved looking at the lights and yelling out what all of them looked like. She would yell "DRAGON, you see him" and "MONKEY, you see him" or she would say "wow lights are amazing"she did this on just about each thing we saw. Her favorite part was riding the "choo choo train" at one point she was singing the choo choo express song from the Mickey Mouse Christmas episode. We left the zoo then got Aubrey some chicken nuggets and went to drive threw and look at the lights at central. Since it isn't on a main road and you drive about 2 miles per hour Tom let Aubrey sit in the front seat with us so she could see everything.(all the other cars was doing the same thing) She loved it too because it had lots of "waddles" (penguins), "snow mams"(snowmen) and all the Disney characters.I didn't take pictures there, oops! We had a great time and Aubrey is still talking about what all she saw.
